Ribbed Scarf

Manos Wool Ribbed Scarf

Skill Level: Beginner

Finished Measurements:

5" wide x 6o"  long (12cm x 152 cm)

Materials:

Yarn: 300 yards of DK or worsted-weight yarn, ex. Manos Maxima The Fair Trade 100% Merino Wool

Notes: Each row is the same, and each side will look the same, because ribbing (k1, p1) is a reversible fabric. I prefer to slip the first stitch on each row, because it's a makes a nice edge. This is knitted back and forth on straight needles.

Cast on 20 sts using knitted cast on or long tail cast on.

Row 1: Si, p1, *k1, p1 *rep to end. Turn.

Continue working in rib pattern for 60 inches, or desired length.

Bind off in pattern.

Finishing: Weave in ends.

Glossary:

k1: Knit stitch
k1,p1: Rib Pattern
p1: Purl stitch
S1: Slip stitch (to the right needle without knitting it)
